NAMESAKE                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The juxtaposition of regal crystal bands and dainty floral motifs in this crown reminds me of Anne of Green Gables reciting the Lady of Shallott in her sinking rowboat – the serious and the playful all in one place. So I named this headpiece after the most famous “Avonlea” in Canada, the Prince Edward Island setting for Lucy Maud Montgomery’s beloved novel.
